Antonio de Ulloa

Antonio de Ulloa was an astronomer and the first Spanish governor of Louisiana.

Ulloa discovered the element platinum in 1735 while in South America.

He arrived on March 5, 1766 in New Orleans to serve as the first Spanish governor of Louisiana.
