Anticholinesterase

An anticholinesterase is any drug that inhibits the enzyme cholinesterase[?] from breaking down acetylcholine, so increasing both the level and duration of action of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.

Anticholinesterases are used in the treatment of myasthenia gravis, to increase neuromuscular transmission.
