Ampallang piercing

The ampallang piercing is a relatively extreme type of body piercing. The piercing extends directly through the glans penis horizontally. Compared to other body piercings, it tends to have a longer healing period, from three to six months and up.

The ampallang or "pelang" is said to have originated with the aboriginies of Papua New Guinea.
