Ambassador Bridge

The Ambassador Bridge connects Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario. The bridge was the longest in the world when it was completed in 1929 - 1850 feet long in its central span. The total bridge length is 7500 feet and the roadway rises 152 feet above the Detroit River. It is the busiest international border crossing in North America and more than 25% of all merchandise trade between the U.S.A. and Canada crosses the bridge.

The bridge that connects Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan is also named the Ambassador Bridge. It spans the St. Mary's River just above the locks that bypass the rapids of the river, and is the northern terminus of the United States Interstate 75 Highway.
