Altitude

Altitude is an attribute of a body, describing its elevation from a known level defined as zero level. Most often this level is defined as the absolute sea level, but it can vary.

Altitude is a one dimensional quantity, measured in the same units as length, most preferably in meters, although the foot[?] is commonly used in aviation.
