Alfred M. Landon

Alfred Mossman Landon (September 9, 1887 - October 12, 1987) was a governor of Kansas and U.S. Presidential candidate. He was elected Governor of Kansas in 1933 and served until 1937. "Alf" Landon, as he was commonly known, ran for president against the formidable Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1936 and lost by a wide margin.
