Aldershot Town F.C.

Aldershot Town Football Club were founded in 1992 by fans of Aldershot F.C. when the latter went out of business. (Note that Aldershot Town was the original name of Aldershot before they joined the league in 1932).

The club play in the English non-league pyramid and in 2002/3 were promoted to the Conference, the level of football immediately below the League.

Like the old league club they play at the Recreation Ground ("Rec") in Aldershot, and are known as "The Shots"

Recent events

  • 1997-8 promoted from Isthmian league division 1 to premier division
  • 1999-2000 finished second in Ryman premier
  • 2002-3 promoted to football conference by winning Ryman premier division
