Albert Pike

Albert Pike (December 29, 1809 - April 2, 1891) was a notable Freemason of the Scottish Rite. During the American Civil War, he was the Confederate envoy to the Native Americans and later became a brigadier general in charge of several Native American regiments. He resigned his commission in 1862 facing controversies surrounding his handling of these regiments.
