ALVIN

ALVIN is a submarine built in 1963. It made several discoveries, and was also used in 1966 to recover a lost american H-bomb near the Spanish coast. It made more than 3,800 dives, and is still in use. The name ALVIN was created both from Allyn Vine[?], the head behind its construction, as well as the popular cartoon character, Alvin the Chipmunk[?].
