Afrotropic

The Afrotropic Ecozone is Africa south of the Sahara desert. It was formerly known as the Ethiopian Zone.

Madagascar forms a distinctive sub-region, with endemic groups like the lemurs

There are 6 endemic bird families, including ostriches, sunbirds[?], Secretary bird, guineafowl, and mousebirds
