Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 58.7 km² (22.6 mi²). 58.6 km² (22.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.09% water.

Demographics As of the census² of 2000, there are 6,774 people, 2,382 households, and 1,917 families residing in the township. The population density is 115.6/km² (299.3/mi²). There are 2,544 housing units at an average density of 43.4/km² (112.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 97.62% White, 0.80% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 0.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,382 households out of which 41.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.0% are married couples living together, 6.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.5% are non-families. 16.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
