According to Jim

The show revolves around a low-brow father (Jim) raising a family while also taking time to play in a blues band. He is married to a sophisticated woman named Gracie and has three children: Ruby, Gracie and baby Kyle.

Cheryl's brother, Andy, is an architect that plays in Jim's band and her sister Dana, who works in advertising and has little luck with dates.
