Abraham Simpson

Redirected from Abraham (The Simpsons)

Abraham Simpson ("Grandpa") is a fictional character in the animated cartoon television series The Simpsons.

Abraham Simpson is Homer Simpson's father. Abraham Simpson (voiced by Dan Castellaneta), known as Grampa, is an ancient, grizzled and mostly senile figure who lives in the Springfield Retirement Castle, a sad, lonely place filled with demented, crippled, and depressed old people (a sign near the entrance says "Thank you for not mentioning the outside world"). Bart and Lisa greatly fear his occasional childminding sessions--at least until he falls asleep and leaves them to their own devices. In the meantime he fills his time with complaining about anything and everything to anyone and everyone he can find.

Abraham Simpson is also a decorated World War II veteran, earning the Iron Cross while he served in the United States Army clearing mine-fields. He was then a member of the Flying Hellfish Battallion[?], and in command of (among others) Charles Montgomery Burns. His age is indeterminate, perhaps inconsistent in the series (including whether he is older or younger than Burns). However, he admits to having "taken a shot at Teddy Roosevelt," and brags that Grover Cleveland spanked him on two non-consecutive occasions.
