Abdominal thrusts

Abdominal thrusts also known as the Heimlich maneuver, are a first aid procedure for choking. Briefly, firm upward pressure is placed on the bottom of the diaphragm to encourage the expulsion of matter stuck in the trachea. Care must be taken not to injure the victim so first aid training is required (preferably using a "dummy" or mannequin) prior to using this technique.

This is a stub article, and a full article on this technique is needed.
