A Man and a Woman

A Man and a Woman ( also known as Un homme et une femme) is a French language film which tells the story of a widow and a widower who meet at their children's school who become close friends, but whose relationship has a problem at going further because of the strong feelings the woman still feels for her dead husband. It stars Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant.

The movie was writte by Claude Lelouch[?] and Pierre Uytterhoeven[?], and directed by Lelouch.

It won Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film (France) and Best Writing, Story and Screenplay - Written Directly for the Screen. It was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Anouk Aimée) and Best Director.

A sequel, Un homme et une femme, 20 ans déjà[?]) (A Man and a Woman: 20 Years Later[?] was released in 1986.
