65 Cybele is the eighth largest asteroid at 309 km, discovered on March 8, 1861 by E.W. Tempel. The sixty-fifth asteroid discovered, the semimajor axis of its orbit is approximately 3.5 AU. The Cybele Group of asteroids is named after it.
