4593 Reipurth, (asteroid 4593), was discovered March 16, 1980 by Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist[?]. It was named in honor of Bo Reipurth[?], then a staff astronomer at the European Southern Observatory in charge of the Schmidt telescope. He was unaware of the asteroid's name until years later, when he found himself on an intercontinental flight with nothing to read except a list of minor planet names.
