27MHz FCC Bandplan

Redirected from 27Mhz FCC Bandplan

The U.S. 27 MHz FCC bandplan used in Citizens' band radio assigns 40 numbered RF channels between 26.965 MHz (Channel 01) and 27.405 MHz (Channel 40), with channels generally spaced on a 10 kHz frequency raster[?].

There are odd 20 kHz channel spacings between channels 3 and 4, 7 and 8, 11 and 12,15 and 16 and 19 and 20. These 'unused' frequencies are used by remote controlled toys such as toy boats and toy cars. These frequencies can also be used by remote controlled aircraft[?] but are not recommended for use due to interference by CB radio in close proximity. For this reason model aircraft tend to use the 35 MHz band instead.

This assignment of channels to frequencies has been adopted by many countries worldwide, including the UK, although some countries have only approved the use of the first 22 channels.

The channel/frequency allocation for the 40 channels are as follows:

Channel 01 26.965 MHz
Channel 02 26.975 MHz
Channel 03 26.985 MHz
